FAQs

Whether it’s a tiny detail that’s puzzling you or a dozen questions at once — no worries!
You’ll find most answers below, and if not, just reach out to us — we’ll be happy to help

What is an “adventure sailing” charter?

It’s a hands-on, skippered sailing trip focused on exploring off-the-beaten-path anchorages, ports, or regions. Guests can take the helm, trim, and navigate under the skipper’s guidance.  Outdoors activities are scheduled according to the location, which can be attended or not.  Typical duration: 7 to 14 days with 6 to 8 guests.

Who is it for—do I need experience?

No prior sailing experience is required.
If you’re already a seasoned sailor, your skills will be welcomed and put to good use.

Beginners eager to learn will discover that we love to share our passion and encourage hands-on experience.

And if you prefer to simply relax and let the skipper handle the sailing, that’s perfectly fine — there will be plenty of other ways to enjoy the journey.
Boats are, of course, moving vehicles — but you’ll be amazed at how stable and comfortable our catamarans feel on the water.

If you have any concerns about your physical condition or comfort level, don’t worry. Once you book your experience, we’ll arrange a live meeting with your skipper to discuss everything in detail and make sure this adventure is the right fit for you.

How many guests can join?

There are never more than eight guests on board, comfortably accommodated in four double cabins.
The skipper occupies the crew quarters.

For cabin cruises, you’ll enjoy a private cabin — just for you or shared with your partner.
For
private charters, the entire catamaran is yours to share exclusively with the friends and family joining your adventure.

What’s the deposit and payment schedule?

When you book, only 10% of the total price is charged.
We’ll then schedule a live call to get to know each other and make sure this kind of adventure truly suits you.
If it doesn’t, your initial deposit will be fully refunded — no questions asked.
If you simply need more time to decide, you can cancel and receive a
full refund up to 60 days before departure.

Two months before your trip, an additional 40% will be charged, bringing your total non-refundable amount to 50%.
The remaining
50% is due 30 days before departure, after which the total becomes non-refundable.

We strongly recommend purchasing travel or cancellation insurance to protect your investment should unforeseen circumstances prevent you from joining the adventure.

What is a 'charter' really?

You charter the entire catamaran for your friends or family. The whole boat will be yours. Not only do you enjoy complete privacy, but we can also customize the itinerary according to your tastes and desires. You can take care of provisioning the food  and srink supplies yourself or let us handle it, always according to your preferences. It is also possible for us to hire a chef, if you prefer to leave the cooking to others.

Where do trips start and end?

It varies — but it’s always clearly indicated in each adventure’s description.

In some cases, we return to our starting point, which is simpler for airline traveling; however, many of our itineraries are designed to maximize discovery, ending in a different location so you can experience even more along the way.

Do you visit marine parks and remote anchorages?

As much as possible!

Park permits and mooring/entry fees (if any) are paid locally.

We follow reef-safe and “no-trace” practices, such as never using the anchor if there is a mooring chain available.

What safety gear is onboard?

Plenty — and you’ll get to know it all!

Before every departure, your skipper will conduct a mandatory safety briefing to explain the use of each item and the procedures to follow in emergency situations.

All our boats carry comprehensive safety equipment, including personal flotation devices, man-overboard gear, EPIRB, flares, fixed and portable VHFs with MOB function, tethered harnesses, spotlights, first-aid kits, and more.

Each vessel is also fitted with modern navigation and communication electronics that enhance safety at sea.
And thanks to today’s high-tech communication systems, there’s always one — and often several — reliable ways to call for help if ever needed.

What are your weather and no-go rules?

We don’t depart or enter unfamiliar ports in winds >25–30 knots or with hazardous swell on lee shores.

The skipper may delay or reroute if conditions deteriorate.

What's the best time of the year?

Short answer: whenever your adventure is scheduled!

All our itineraries are carefully planned to match the best seasonal weather conditions.
In summer, the Mediterranean offers calm seas and gentle breezes — perfect for relaxed sailing.
In winter, the Caribbean rewards sailors with steady, reliable trade winds and warm sunshine.

That said, our skippers monitor weather forecasts daily. If any changes arise that call for an adjustment, they’ll keep you informed and discuss the best options to ensure both safety and enjoyment.

Will I actually learn to sail?

Absolutely — if that’s what you’d like!

You’ll have the chance to take the helm, trim the sails, reef, moor, pilot, and even practice basic navigation.

Our skippers see every eager learner as a chance to share their passion and experience — giving back some of the joy the sea has given them over the years.

You can be as hands-on or relaxed as you wish; every maneuver is fully briefed and supervised to ensure safety and confidence.

The skipper will gladly sign logbooks and record miles sailed.  However, we are not a chartered sailing school, and as such cannot issue formal certificates.

Do you sail at night?

When conditions permit, some itineraries may include night passages — a unique and memorable experience under the stars.

These overnight legs are planned so that the next destination is reached by daylight, ensuring comfort and safety.

As a rule, night entries into unfamiliar ports or anchorages are avoided, in keeping with sound seamanship practices.

What are the boarding and disembarking times?

Boarding usually begins at 12:00 noon on the first day of your sailing experience, and disembarkation takes place around 9:00 a.m. on the final day.

These times remain somewhat flexible — your skipper will confirm the exact schedule during your pre-departure meeting, adapting it to the specifics of your chosen adventure.

If your flight schedule doesn’t allow you to arrive on time, we recommend planning to arrive a bit earlier. In many cases, you can occupy your cabin the night before departure (or keep it for an extra night) for a fixed fee, depending on availability.

Do we needs visas or special permits?

Most nationalities benefit from visa-free entry to the countries we visit.

Before confirming your booking, please ensure that your passport is valid for at least six months after arrival, and verify the specific entry requirements that apply to your country of citizenship.

Do I need travel insurance?

Absolutely!

All our boats are fully insured against theft and accidental damage to the vessel and its equipment.
However, your personal belongings should be protected under your own travel insurance policy, covering potential risks both on land and at sea.

We also strongly recommend trip cancellation insurance, in case unforeseen events prevent you from joining your adventure.

Lastly, comprehensive travel health coverage will give you peace of mind — ensuring you’re protected in the unlikely event of illness, injury, or the need for medical evacuation or repatriation.

What are you environmental practices?

This subject is close to our hearts.

We strive to minimize engine use, conserve fresh water, and manage waste responsibly—ensuring proper disposal of grey and black water.

Whenever possible, we anchor on sand, avoiding fragile reefs and posidonia meadows.

We also use reef-safe, biodegradable products and brief all our guests on low-impact cruising principles—small habits that make a big difference. We believe no gesture is too small when it comes to protecting our blue planet.

Smoking, vaping and substances

Our boats are 100% smoke-free — this includes all types of smoke-producing products.
In some destinations, smoking may be permitted ashore, and occasionally even in certain restaurants or cafés. However, if you’re a frequent smoker, please be aware that there may be times when we remain at sea for over 24 hours without going ashore.

As for controlled or illegal substances, they are strictly prohibited. This is a serious matter at sea: in many countries, if such substances are discovered onboard by customs authorities, the entire vessel is considered a trafficking craft, subject to immediate seizure.
Such an event would result in the immediate termination of the voyage, possible imprisonment, and severe fines for both guests and the vessel’s operator.

Can we use drones, take videos and publish photos?

Yes, drones are welcome — but before each flight, the skipper must confirm that conditions allow safe operation at that moment.

Drone use must always comply with local and international aviation regulations, including altitude limits and restricted zones.

If you plan to publish your footage, please remember to obtain consent from any recognizable individuals featured in your videos or photos.

For marketing purposes, we invite all guests to join a group photo session and we capture your testimonials on short clips, for those who are happy to appear on our website or social channels.
